Tushar Kansal (Born 12th September 1976) is a Business professional and Speaker, Founder and CEO of Kansaltancy Ventures. He is an Independent Director and an accomplished Finance professional, a "Thought Leader/ Influencer" in the Global Startup & Financial ecosystem – an authority on Finance, Venture Capital, Business dynamics, Entrepreneurship and Spirituality with a dedicated base of followers from around the world.

Career

Tushar Kansal’s service career spans multiple sectors, from Venture Capital (Brand Capital), Big 4 Consulting (Deloitte & Touche), LSE-listed Sistema’s India unit (MTS India) to leading as CFO of DLI, a company owned by $325 Billion US Private Equity Fund – Guggenheim Partners

After MBA, he started an Education company “IITS” which went on to have offline brick- and-mortar centres with 800 students being trained each year. He successfully exited the Company to a National player in the IIT-JEE Engineering entrance preparation space
In 2007, he joined Deloitte & Touche in their Financial Advisory practice
He was poached by Brand Capital (previously called “Private Treaties”), which is the Venture arm of the biggest Media house in India, the “Times of India group” (Bennett Coleman). It is pioneer of a unique Business model that funds long-term brand building efforts of a company allowing it to focus its capital on building operations, distribution and other key capabilities that supports the imminent growth trajectory.
For a brief while, he was in Central Treasury of USD 5 billion telco “Aircel”, owned by Maxis group, Malaysia

He headed Debt and Treasury functions of the Indian arm of leading London Stock Exchange(LSE)-listed Russian Telecom company Sistema, owner of the brand “MTS”. Tushar was instrumental in arranging USD 2.5 billion of debt for the company in difficult times of regulatory overhang and media scrutiny
He was CFO (Chief Financial Officer) of USD 325 billion Guggenheim Partners-owned company “DLI”.
In 2013, he founded Indus B2C Global – a Consumer B2C Startup in the field of Hair Extensions. He felt that he should continue working in the area of Finance, in which he has been trained and had long years of experience. So he executed vertical integration of the Business and got a successful exit

Then he founded a consultancy firm named Kansaltancy Ventures. At Kansaltancy Ventures, he has helped leading Companies in Technology space (including EdTech, FinTech, Consumer B2C, B2B & D2C, AgriTech, Disruptive, Web3, Blockchain & DeepTech), as well as non-Tech sectors. He has worked as Venture Advisor with Loyal VC, the INSEAD-led Canadian VC Fund, helping them invest in more than 360 companies in 60 countries
He arranged Funding for GP Eco Solutions, after which he joined the Company as an Independent Director. In 2024, GP Eco Solutions came out with an IPO of INR 31 crore, and got IPO bids of INR 16,600/- crore, on the back of a strong Board of Directors!

Kansaltancy Ventures

To partner with wannabe-Founders about the basics of starting a business, assisting them in how to approach investors and becoming Funding-ready, he created Kansaltancy Ventures. The Company is in Equity fundraising/ Venture Capital, Debt, SME IPO, Acquisitions, and Mentoring. The company has a partnership with more than 1000+ Global Investors/ Financial Institutions and has advised more than 5000+ Startups and Growth-stage companies in the last decade

Kansaltancy Ventures is a Global company born out of the Startup movement & culture, which has diversity and inclusion as its guiding tenets. It is also helping some great companies in Impact field, thereby promoting UN SDG’s (Sustainable Development Goals) including Environmental preservation, women-participation and Corporate Governance compliances

The Company is facilitating growth across Global Tech and non-Tech sectors by its Network, Domain specialisation and investments from Global VC/ Investor relationships. The Company’s primary network spans US, UK, Singapore, UAE and India

Furthermore, he also founded Saffron First, an Angel network. Through Venture Capital and funding networks, he has built an ecosystem that provides enterprises with ultra-fast scalability.

Kansaltancy Ventures is plans to open a Venture Builder/ Accelerator in Dubai and a USD 25 million VC Fund based in GIFT City targeting Tech Startups in APAC region

Education

For his undergraduate degree in B. Tech (Engineering) in Textiles, he went to Technological Institute of Textile & Sciences, Bhiwani, affiliated to the “Textile Institute Manchester, UK” and part of the leading Industrial & Education house in India “The Birla Group”

After his Bachelor’s, he did MBA in Finance (Master of Finance & Control); from the Department of Financial Studies, University of Delhi and got his M&A division campus placement in SBI Capital Markets. He was Treasurer in the Placement Committee of the Student body of the Department.

In 2020, he completed an Executive course in Leadership at Harvard Business School

Tushar Kansal’s Blog ‘Indus Churning’ (on Nationalism, Corporates and Spirituality) had hit the mark of 2.6 million in 2013-14. However, hackers corrupted the blog, which unfortunately led to the it crashing – after many years, he revised it and it is now WIP
